Client: The Great Rivers Greenway District
Location: St. Louis, MO
Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard is the main Mississippi Riverfront thoroughfare in Downtown St. Louis, and during a typical year it would spend some of each spring/summer underwater. To alleviate this problem, contractors were hired to raise the roadbed to reduce susceptibility to flooding, as well as adding numerous enhancements to provide a first-class experience for visitors to the riverfront and arch grounds. This project consisted of nine different packages, each with a separate contractor. The metals package contains modifications and repairs to the Chouteau Avenue, Poplar Street, and Carr Street floodgates, installing new handrails, installing new stanchions with existing bollard chain, and fabricating and installing new guardrails.
