- Emergency response, Marine Construction, Pile Driving (Deep Foundations),

Client: Missouri Department of Transportation

Location: Brunswick, MO

Due to MODOT’s concern during flooding of the Grand River, Route 24 was closed because of a massive log jam and scouring under the river piers. During this outage the detour added 45 minutes to the next river crossing. Through the course of this project debris and other obstructions were removed from around the river piers. Then sheet pile walls were assembled and placed for cofferdams around the river piers. Micro piles and structural concrete was placed within the cofferdams to restore the foundations for the bridge. The cofferdams were filled with rock as a barrier between the pier and river. This project was performed during high water levels and on an expedited schedule to keep the bridge from washing away and minimize the impact to traffic.
