Building Bridges for Truth, Justice and the American Way

St. Louis Bridge Construction Co. is a Midwestern engineering intensive heavy civil contractor specializing in the construction and repair of bridges and other general construction.

“Anyone can put concrete on the ground, it takes a real contractor to put it in the air.”

With over four decades in business we’ve constructed an incredible amount of work in the immediate downtown St. Louis area. It’s impossible to leave downtown St. Louis without crossing over or under something St. Louis Bridge Construction Co. has worked on.

About 01b

From Humble Beginnings

In 1972, George M. Johnson III started St. Louis Bridge Construction Co. from humble beginnings with a desk in his bedroom.  George previously worked for Frazier-Davis Construction Company, which closed its doors this same year.  Bridge engineering and construction is in George’s bloodline; his father and uncle were both bridge engineers for the Wabash Railroad.

Now, nearly every bridge within view from The St. Louis Arch has either been built, retrofitted, rehabilitated or repaired in some fashion by St. Louis Bridge.
